father’s day MESSAGE FROM THE MARCUS FOUNDATION
It has been awhile since we last communicated with our supporters. While we are currently planning several fundraising events for later this year, including our annual raffle, which we expect to rollout in the Fall, we thought it appropriate to reach out to you all in honor of Father's Day.
For the Dads out there, Father's Day is very special. Being able to spend time with ones children is truly a blessing.
I share that sentiment, however, at the same time the day also reminds me of the terrible void in my life, owing to the loss of my son Mark S. Niziak Jr. ("Marcus") shortly after his 5th birthday. The sorrow is oftentimes unbearable. Unfortunately, I know that I am not alone in my sorrow, as there are thousands of Dads out there who have had to endure the heartbreak of losing a precious child. So as you are enjoying the day, we simply ask that you keep in mind the families that will have to face the void on an otherwise special day.
It is for those families, and unfortunately the many others who will be confronted with the unimaginable in the years to come, that we, through the Marcus Foundation, continue the battle that Marcus so valiantly fought 35 years ago.
We thank you for your past support over these many years, and hope that you will continue with us on this journey in the years to come.
